Karl Hensel
Karl creates intricate patterned artworks in glass, employing a range of techniques - fused glass panels, borosilicate torch work, glass enamel painting, and construction with copper elements. His work is focused on energetic patterns and reference to systems of interdependence with multi-layered effects.
Karl resides on the island of Maui in Hawaii. His glass artworks are represented in collections across the US. He received a BFA in Glass and Design from Tyler School of Art, Temple University and has done continued study at Pilchuck School among others. His work was selected for Corning Museum’s New Glass Review 8. He was the 1st Managing Director of the Creative Glass Center of America (now WheatonArts).
